… George Palamara from Japan gives an eye-witness account: "This was the third and final game I got to try at the FAMICOM SPACEWORLD show. It is a VB version of the old game Blockout played on a 3D play field with a 3/4 view. In this version you had two 'paddles' on the field that you used to hit the 'ball' back up at the 'blocks.' Sounds easy right? Wrong! You controlled the two with the VB's twin direction keys and you had to use both 'paddles' as there was no way to get just one of them across the screen in time. While not a breakthrough in 3D gaming, VIRTUAL BLOCK made it's mark with that two 'paddle' design, as evidenced by the long line to try it out at the show, and the fact that some guy had to tell me to get off the machine and let some little kid have a try, because I was playing for so long! (Sorry little dude, who ever you are)".
