Virtual Boy Technical Demo

Manufacturer:
Nintendo Co. Ltd.
Genre: system technical demo
Planned release date: never
Every Nintendo system has been demo-ed to show it's high performance abilities to the press & third party developers at the Consumer Electronic Show (CES which is the present E3) the year the system was to be released, especially the dolphin jumping through hoops sequence has been a classic since just before the Game Boy and Game Boy Color handheld releases.

Demo intro:

*Mario spells it out for you

Dolphin demo:

*A school of dolphins from a distance

*Zooming in on the dolphins from the side

*Awww, how cute, they are doing their dance along with us dolphin theme & be sure to take notice of the airbubbles/water effect

*All jokes aside, the dolphins themselves look to be awesome 3D (bitmapped, filled in or fully rendered it's called I believe)

Unknown, but still in-demo:

*Looks kind of like a barrier reef to show water effects, any ideas?

*Looks like an underwater coral reef with some sea-weed and jelly-fish or a bubbling volcano, any ideas?

Is the existence (of a prototype) confirmed: Yes...
... A Demo has been seen for show on TV screens at CES 1995.

This was confirmed by multiple English and American magazine journalists (one of which Cyril Lachel) who all saw (with special 3D goggles) & wrote the demo was on show in America, most notable is an article from the English Electronic Gaming Monthly magazine and I quote:

"Below, you can see the demo that was running. It showed some of the power the Virtual Boy has in terms of graphics in 3-D. ... VIRTUAL BOY DEMO. Nintendo displayed a demo that showed the power and realism of the Virtual Boy."
