The Hong Kong Module
Cartridge which is said to contain all Virtual Boy games, plus
some demos, protos, and by hackers selfproduced games;
Manufacturer: Unknown pirate company
There is next to no information about this illegal Virtual Boy
cartridge, but there has been said the following about this cart
in the past few years:
Taken from an article in N64
Magazine's Retro corner: "There has recently been news of a
multi-cart for the system. Apparently, the Hong Kong souced
cartridge contains all 21 official games and some additional
demos and prototypes. Don't get too excited though, the cartridge
has yet to be seen for sale outside the territory."
*please note that
this article was written 2 to 3 years ago (at present it's the
year2000), which explains why the article doesn't say "22
official games", seeing as not much was known about the
Japanese VB games at the time;
Also said is: "The
multi-cart was a rumour from friends in Japan.
Apparently it was amazingly expensive, costing around
£400 equivalent. It had versions of
Mario Kart and
G Zero on it, but these were pirate versions, made by illegal coders.
Still nice to have though."
And by someone else: "A guy I know in HK who I buy *cough*
PSX silvers *cough* from was at one point selling HK modules.
Although he cant remember for sure the exact contents he was
quite sure it had 3 mario games on, one being mario
kart. I assume the other two were Clash
and Tennis (or Wario Land). You switched games by turning the VB
on and off (like old pre-menu Gameboy multi carts)."
AND:
"I have several contacts in Indonesia and Korea, where the VB multis aren't unheard of, it's just that there are so few machines out there, that the big piracy guys don't bother much with the machine."
