It's the time to be
jolly... - First Christmas-day - Ferry
I'd like to wish
everyone a very merry Christmas & and may Santa be good to you.
But what's Christmas without presents? Here are 6 absolutely awesome new
unreleased in-game picture of Bound High!!! Enjoy!!!
Java test - December 22, 2000 @ 00:08AM GMT+1 - Ferry
I believe that Ben's
HMD VB Page is going to disappear,
this would truely be terrible as we've always loved his tinkering with the VB's
hard- and soft-ware. Please keep the spirit alive Ben!
Couldn't sleep, so I figured I might aswell try out something called Java, which
is used to make websites look nicer. If you look at the Main page, you will see
a link on top called "Test yourself...", now click it and some
computers will show a slow-going Matrix-like screen (didn't you notice the new
background when entering? -it now moves too!!-) I was actually hoping to make
that the startup screen of this site, but I don't know how yet, plus I need to
get it up to speed 'a bit'. (^_^)
...make something big. - December 19, 2000 @ 1:42AM GMT+1 - Ferry
Here's the deal:
Besides the fact that OmeBa and me are VERY busy in our personal lives, which
gives us a shortage of time to do some small updates *cough* new articles to
show everyone OmeBa!! *cough*
We are (with the help of a lot of people whom we thank for their continuing
efforts) working on big New Years updates, but this update is so enormously big
that we probably need a whopping extra 700
MB's of webspace to upload everything
once it's all scanned (we're well on the way), but we only got 15
MB's available to us on this website.
We were hoping to get an unlimited webspace account, but the company providing
that service has temporarily closed down new subscriptions :-(
All small things together... -
December 03, 2000 @ 2:31AM GMT+1 - Ferry
It took 11 months before changing the layout of the GAMES and UNRELEASED sections,
I'm sorry for those who had to go through downloadhell all this
time to end up with only half the pictures on those gigantly long
picture-pages, but those worries are gone now forever and believe
me the pictures are worth it, I still love checking the
unreleased ones out. Now I can finally get myself to upload new
ones, but first I zzzzzzzzzz...
THE MERGER - November 22, 2000 @
18:00PM GMT+1 - Ferry
Today I present to you OmeBa from The VB Weird Shit Zone as together we will manage this site from now
on, me and my one year long pal have decided to merge both our
sites into one big one (yet to be named) which we'll refer to as www.Virtual-Boy.Net for now, over the course of the coming weeks
OmeBa will be adding all his sections to www.virtual-boy.net and we will come up with a new format to
finalize OUR combined domain. Let's get it on... THE VIRTUAL WAY!
:-)
21 November 2000: Many thanks go to Chaz for hooking me up with this great new link http://www.virtual-boy.net Be sure to bookmark it and take notice of the hyphon between virtual and boy :-) Also newly added is... well just check the bottom of your browserwindow!
14 November 2000:
I remember some of you requesting more reviews, so I didn't write
any... uhm... that didn't sound right did it? What I really meant
is I just got a translation in of one of our Japanese VB-loving
friends, so I included that short, but fun to read review in the Reviews
Section.
Also added a new textpage about Gunpey Yokoi on the Articles Section, all in Japanese though. Seeing
as there's no joy in uploading new unreleased vb pics if no one
can properly view them, I'll wait till I've finished re-do-ing
the unreleased games section. Check out this pin I recently
found, ain't it... swell? =)
In between lines: I've been experimenting with translating Japanese, because my basic knowledge of Kanjij won't get me far & I can't keep asking Japanese friends to translate everything for me... sadly I was not happy with the result, as I got "SD cancer dam dimension Waugh" out of the Virtual Boy game "SD gundam dimension war", it just isn't my day (stop laughing! it ain't funny!)
08 November 2000: OmeBa from The Weird Shit Zone has a complete VB Space Squash for sale, go and check it out & make him an offer via his email if you're interested!! I gues the new link will have to wait a little while longer (cheers old chap, I hope you'll give it to me soon). New unreleased pictures very soon when I have more time to do a decent update. The only other VB sites whom recently got updated are Omeba's Site and PlanetVB, so go check them out.
29 October 2000:
Good news!! I'll get a nice short link next week!!
So many things to do here, so little time :-( I really have alot
to do for this page, I need to change the layout of the
unreleased games section so everyone can load it in full, start
preparations on a humorous(or at least I hope so!) project to
hype the Virtual Boy up abit, scan ALOT of NEW unreleased VB
pictures, write at least 1 new review, try and re-arrange other
big sections, and the last goal for this year is to set up a
newyears surprise for you all, which I'll keep under wraps till
then. Once the time is there, those who deserve credit will
ofcourse get it! I totally love it, so many people are helping me
out. And I haven't even started about the VB Fanlist yet, the
more people join, the more fun it becomes to update the list!
19 October 2000:
It is decided upon to make the VB Fanlist more professional by adding 2 more
questions about if you would like to see a now unreleased VB
game published
and what game that would be then. Please be patient with me, the
list will foremost be a fanlist, but I'm sure those who sign up
would love to see a new VB game released, I really hope that
everyone will answer the latest 2 questions aswell, so if there
is enough support for the idea of releasing an unpublished game
for the VB, that we can then go official and try to convince a
third party developer and Nintendo of Japan to publish 1
unreleased game, I may come accross abit vague, but there is a
quite detailed plan already, we just need alot of people to sign
up, several gamestores have already shown interest aswell; I have
send out 200 emails now, I will soon send out the same amount of
emails to the same vbfans to notify all of the updated questions
for the vb fanlist, I really want to go all out on this and have
already received much support, all I'm asking of you is to sign
up and spread the word.
This might turn out to be a big smelly bomb OR it could be a
dream come true once Virtual Boy fans of the world unite.
Whatever happens, we'll get a great list of VB FANS anyhow, and
that's reason enough to join already I'm sure :-D
15 October 2000: Late night update to add The Virtual Boy Fanlist! If you like VB, you might want to join the list (check out the Q's on the section itself), this will be great fun, I'm sure of it! :-)
Friday the 13th of October 2000: Today's my lucky day! *hehehe* I have had confirmed by the editor that my 5 page article on Nintendo's Virtual Boy history, present, and prototypes is being published in the Christmas edition of the world renowned Retrogames magazine, more news about this in december.
04 October 2000:
3 Years have gone by since Gunpei Yokoi, the inventor of the
Virtual Boy, Game Boy (Pocket) and many others, has passed away.
In memory of him I have written an
article about his life with Nintendo, I admire this legendary man, I think
you will too soon.
29 September 2000: VB Starfox screenshot, need I say more? oh yes... check the unreleased games section for what little details known. New section coming up soon.
24 September 2000: Late weekend update this time round is about the updated my collection and improved other sections, mainly some new scans at the Articles Section.
15 September 2000: Virtual Boy Cheats 'N Codes anyone? I've finally composed a section with all the VB codes I could find online as well as in magazines, a nice addition is that I found out a few (in the Japanese games) aswell, a big thanks to Daniel Palacios for giving me a startup on the section by sending me a heap of cheats!
27 August 2000:
I'm sure it hasn't gone un-noticed that Nintendo has released the first info on the Game
Boy Advance & the Nintendo Gamecube console formerly known as
Dolphin, and it's even greater to see that Nintendo has gone back
to the Virtual Boy shaped two grip controller!

19 August 2000:
Back with a tan and good news! The famed Red Area, which has gone
missing months ago, will come back in December 2000, in a chat
with the webmaster of The Red Area, he unveiled to have bought a
webdomain and is (eventhough busy) planning a re-launch!
Short note: I have 12 VB items For
Sale, make me
an offer I can't refuse.
05 August 2000:
To all you Virtual Girls & Boys visiting: I just wanted to let you know that I'll
be on vacation from the 6th to the 14th of August. I'm
going to South-France, where amongst others I will be
enjoying snorkeling, hehe ;-) [nice picture inserted]
I also wanted to thank
Brandon for the Red Alarm
& Wario Land DEMOS!
04 August 2000: Updated the Unreleased Gamesection, I added some small info bits and quotes about the Hong Kong Module; Once again a BIG thanks to Dean Young for sending me 17! yes 17! article scans, also to stop the tedious loadingtime on the Articles section, I've remodeled the section and added links to every single article I have here, so go check out the new articles HERE :-)
29 July 2000:
This update a special thanks to Dean
Young for sending in a old
article of "The Second Coming Of The Virtual
Boy". Also
new is a black and white screenshot of VB's Goldeneye007, thanks
to Brandon Tabassi for this:

27 July 2000:
I will soon get the Red Alarm and Wario Land DEMO cartridges! I
can hardly wait to finally confirm these for real! Especially the
Wario Land demo, in the existance of which hardly anyone
believes, heh, that will show disbelievers I only tell the truth,
the whole truth and... I'll stop now :-)
PS: Next month I'll finally get a Japanese VB unit, so I will
finally be able to tell if there's difference between the US and
JPN version of the unit, besides the language, should be
interesting.
17 July 2000: Yet another funfilled update for the VBfan! A big thanks to my mate Volkert van der Schoor for taking pictures of my VBcollection! To see the pictures go to The My Collection Section; I've also added a Message Board! Talk about VB to VBfans, I hope this will be enjoyable.
15 July 2000: Uploaded 2 new pictures of the unreleased Mario Adventure game, go HERE to see them (just wait for page to load, they are at the near-bottom). Also updated is the Games Section, 5 new pictures of Virtual Bowling (I found them when the auction for the game was on) are now inserted! I had to remove Worms from the unreleased section because I recently had confirmed by Chaz that the project designer said that Team17(programmers of Worms) never even started coding for/working on the Virtual Boy version of Worms :-(
13 July 2000 3:00am: Hello Virtual Fans, I just got back from a nice long drive with some friends, summer isn't all what I hoped for yet, but at least this gives me some time to update this page, you can expect some(probably 2) new unreleased Mario Adventure pics this week & I like the idea of putting on another poll. As for bizz: I still have the complete and in excellent condition Insmouse No Yakata up for bids, for more details Email Me; I might be persuaded into selling a SPACE SQUASH, but the offer would have to be good, seeing that it also is complete and in great condition, a real collectors must-have so to speak! Please do not give me false offers, someone already did that, and let me tell you "you are only ruïning it for other people whom are really interested in buying the above mentioned VB-games". Check out the For Sale Section for further details. Also I would like to ask interested people to react with bids as soon as they can, seeing as I need vacationmoney.
01 July 2000: It's been half a year already since the launch of this site, many sections have been added in the meantime, some in a rush some very cautionate, in effect the layout wasn't always at it's best, now thanks to my friend Leon van der Ree, this entire page has been given a huge facelift! Now this page will be viewable with IE and NS webbrowsers on any computer (new or old)! For quick loading the backgroundsound has been removed from some sections. Oh and if you want to get back to main, just click my page's logo! :-) Thanks for visiting and more VB news soon, till later...
28 June 2000:
Fixed the scanner, so all I can say is "tadaa!" -->

23 June 2000: I am freeeee, it's vacationtime for meeeee; Ahum yes... okay well now... it seems that some of the Nintendo-related collectors items I was going to order will be delayed for awhile, some even till past August before I can order :( On the bright side, I'll be able to buy more Virtual Boy items, so if I obtain any more you'll be the first to hear it. You know I've been busy, so that explains me not responding to emails, will do this weekend!
17 June 2000: Woke up at 9am to prepare for exams; Door rings at 10am, it's the mailman with a package from Japan; I laugh because Dutch customs didn't charge the usual $40 for importing stuff; I open up the package and a Japanese Jack Bros., Wario Land, Mario Clash and Insmouse No Yakata come out all shiny and brand new! So I open up the JBros. and lay it down on my desk, next thing I do is get the VB unit and turn it on to find I'm playing Mario's Tennis. I got the scare of a lifetime there!! Luckily it was me being sleepy, because I hadn't inserted the JBros. game yet, hehe silly me. Wow, I just realised what a great game Jack Bros. really is, the 3D sound & graphics effects are incredibly nice! And I drewl at the boxarts of the Japanese Wario Land and Mario Clash, I'll scan them soon to show them to you. Oh and ofcourse I updated the My Collection section now :)
09 June 2000: If you think all I play&collect is Virtual Boy then you're wrong, I also collect alot of (in my eyes) special consoles and games Nintendo made or novelty's that where copied from Nintendo, here's what's on my way at the moment:

Here's some Nintendo stuff I will order soon [when I fork out enough money, because I still want to be able to go on a vacation!]:

08 June 2000: Been and will be busy with school and internjob, as for news: the Japanese Virtual Bowling game is on auction, I don't think it's been for sale anywhere except in Japan itself, so that's a world's first; Not much else VB to report since one of my best Japanese sources is in the hospital, so I can't do much else than to wish him well and hope my last orders will arrive at my home.
02 June 2000: The Timelines Section came out first with half the votes on the poll, it's got an added personal touch you may enjoy reading... backgroundsound ring a bell? I'm sure it does. As for the new Timelines Section I always say no new without any old, so no 3D without any 2D, as to say games older than 5 years aren't outdated, their called retro, denying yourself a good play on every type of gamedimension (2D/2,5D/3D) is the same as denying yourself a shot at winning the lottery; Anyway new poll coming up soon; the weather in The Netherlands is bad today, so it'll be playing Outcast and renting some movies, oh and if you need a laugh go and watch Deuce Bigalow: male gigolo in the cinemas, I mean if you're in one of those countries where the sun don't shine you might aswell be laughing your ass off.
26 May 2000: Typed out the My Collection section, has a nice overview now, made some minor changes to other sections (hardly noticeable). I'd like to say thanks to the people who've signed The Guestbook, keep signing and I'll keep on updating! (that's a nice arrangement isn't it?) ;-) and last I'd like to say I'll keep the 1st poll up for one more week then I'll put on the section with the most votes:
19 May 2000: Well BIG news in this update is I ALMOST won SD Gundam Dimension War on an online auction ;-) [note my sarcasm], my bid of one dollarcent was a joke, to bad I missed out though :-(
History repeating: After this years Electronics Entertainment Expo, something familiar showed up; A newsreport reveals new info on the next-gen Game Boy Advance prior to it's debut next year: "Most remarkable was a rotating 3D level select which along with two other demo's(flying spaceships&basketball game) showed the GBA's ability to display FMV(full motion video) cutscenes", but wait here it comes ---> "A separate demo, featuring a dolphin leaping through a set of rings, showed off the machine's fancy lighting and tranparency effects." Now compare this to the following 1995 Consumer Electronics Show report a while prior to the Virtual Boy's debut: "In addition to the 3D VB games shown in Japan, two other demo's(a space flyer&mario game) were shown", now check this out ---> "Another demo was an underwater scene showing a dolphin." So as it seems Nintendo is still using the 'same' testdemo's for previewshowings, they just can't deny their (VB)history;
13 May 2000: Made a new introsound which I ripped from VB's Space Invaders, I shouldn't forget to mention the Wario Land backgroundtune is now 3/5th of it's original size. I'm hoping loading the page will be much faster for the Main Section. Well the sun is shining and it'll be 25°C today so I'm off to the beach *gone windsurfing* enjoy the weekend!
09 May 2000: I found some nifty gadgets to make this page more interactive with it's visitors, in other words "gimme your opinions", before making more sections, here's a testpoll to see what you want...(look up there ^ )
08 May 2000: Gues what? Yes, I added a Guestbook to the site! So if you like this page, the Virtual Boy or ME! ;-) just go ahead and sign it, that way you'll give me a reason to continue, knowing I have to make this page bigger so that you'll come back for more VB.
03 May 2000: Added My collection of Virtual Boy games to the page, I'm still looking for a few games, any help would be appreciated; And yes it's not a text, it's a scan of the list, I'm sorry but I was just to lazy to type it all over again :-O Well bye now!
02 May 2000: Being on my internjob is preventing me from having a mayvacation :( still it isn't stopping me from perfecting the upcoming Timelines section, included with that I'm even stirring up a nice not-to-loud 1:30 minute (but really small in size!) backgroundsound I reckon everyone will love; The New VB Message Board had gotten so many posts last week it had to be wiped clean of it's contents to keep it running (ok, so that isn't entirerly true, but it did got wiped clean), we're glad the board is back up now under a new link, I heared something about a new petition starting up, well I don't know what it's about, but I do know the 'original' VB Petition has dropped dead on the floor :( I'm working to get screenshots of a new game on the Virtual Boy's "little" brother, this game seems to have borrowed a bit of it's storyline from one of the VB's games, I'll put a comparison up sometime soon.
29 April 2000: In The Netherlands today is a national feastday, therefore we celebrate our Queens birthday, but that's not all what's up: this humble page has had it's 2000th visitor, making me the 3rd best visited Virtual Boy-only page right after #1The Unofficial Nintendo VB Homepage & #2The Virtual Boy Weird Shit Zone. Ofcourse Virtual Boy sites are not about who can get the most hits, their about good/fun info, what I'm trying to state here is that there are quite alot Virtual Boy fans out there, and what I'm really happy about it that so many people have not forgotten this great console. Well back to business, as you might have noticed I've (as promised) put up some new backgrounds, I reckon this will make the page much better readable and they add a nice professional touch, this all thanks to Peter "Poits" Rogers' excellent graphics designs.
PS: If you're wondering what's the matter with the coloured texts; The Dutch flag is from top to bottom: red, white & blue, and our national colour is orange, well I'm off to par-ty!
24 April 2000: I'm thinking about putting on a different background, the current one makes for a bit hard read, I've always known this, but I refuse to put up yet another red or black-only background, anywayz Peter "Poits" Rogers has offered to do a new background, I accepted, now the catch for you people is to get this page to the 2000th visitor by the end of the week, if that happens, I'll put up a new background asap; New sections coming soon.
22 April 2000: Added the NEW Specs Section, I've explained some of the specifications about the VB more thoroughly, so it'll hopefully make some more sense to the non-computer experts like myself, however if they still don't make much sence to you, just mail me for a picture of a schematic of the VB's inside I have lying around somewhere and I'll put it on here; Well enjoy the long Easter weekend everyone, I will be back with more updates & sections within the week... I have to go now my eggs are getting cold... ;-)
20 April 2000: "because I seem to be about the only person in the world who doesn't get a headache after playing the Virtual Boy for a longer time" After saying this I was asked how long "a longer time" was to me, well I'm talking half an hour upto three hours of gameplay, I managed this when I was playing VB's Wario Land, which is not that surprising since it's just a heck of a great game! For other Virtual Boy news: check out this (just like this page) regulary updated website called the VirtualBoy Zone.
18 April 2000: What's a Virtual Boy page without a section dedicated to the system, so I proudly present to you the Virtual Boy Section. Here you'll find info you never heared of before, so what are you waiting for... go on read it if you will.
PLEASE NOTE: I have removed the to me given scans of the 3 prototype cartridges Dragon Hopper/Bound High/Zero Racers from the Unreleased Section, because these have not been verified as real, therefore they affected the reliability of this page to much. I'm not the type of person that wants to deceive everyone or bring another hoax in the world of retro videogames. However I do believe the now removed scans are genuine, and will attempt to prove they are.
16 April 2000: Exams are over so I can start working some more on this page :-) I've updated the Reviews section, there is now THE WORLD'S FIRST Virtual Lab Review !! (at the bottom of that page). I'm currently working on 3 new sections to give you more info on the Virtual Boy and a good read I reckon! I'm also thinking about putting an online poll on here called "What's the best Virtual Boy game?", should be fun to see what people vote best game. A yet-to-be released MAC Virtual Boy Emulator called ViBe will hit the internet soon, it will play even more games than the 2 Windows Emulators. I'll get crackin' on my new sections, so stay tuned, VB lives, yeah it does!!
Week 14 -2000-: With lack of other VB news I decided to give my page a soundlift, so please patiently await the new site-sound to be downloaded, but once that's done you'll be awarded with the entirer soundtrack that belongs to the below shown level2 of VB Wario Land, the in my & many other peoples opinion best game on the Virtual Boy!!!

Plus the top frame is now 15% of the page, instead of a fixed number of pixels. Well I hope everyone will enjoy the page better now (and no I couldn't make the 1:05 minute soundtrack any smaller!) :-p If anyone has any tips on sounds I should put on here or a soundtrack from any of the VB games that exist/I own (except for SD Gundam&Virtual Bowling), it's for your own enjoyment, so let me know and I might put it on.
PS: This update is done in advance, cos at the moment I'm occupied with preparing for exams I'll be having the coming two weeks, if that doesn't cut into my time online already, the fact that my internetaccess is very limited at the moment will. Till soon Virtual Boy fans.
Week 13 -2000-: The creator(s) of Virtual Boy 2000 now made an additional site called Virtual Lab which goes on about what the VB can do. Be sure to check out The New VB Message Board because last week it went past a staggering 1000 posts!! in just 12 weeks time, meaning over 80 new posts a week, that's something to come back to now is it :) I also updated my links section: links added and some url's changed the past few weeks.
Week 12 -2000-: I finally got myself a step-down converter for my US AC Adapterset, and I advise everyone who doesn't live in Japan or the USA to get themselves an Adapterset plus step-down converter (you don't want to blow your VB up now don't you), and if you do live in Japan or the USA you'll probably won't have such a hard time finding an Adapterset as us foreign people, because alot of mayor stores there still have them. The Adapterset doesn't make the VB more portable (because of the wires), but hey I wasn't planning on taking my VB on my next trip out of town anyway ;-p The HMD VB page has moved & is re-newed and it's looking good, so be sure to check it out, it's still No.1 source concerning manuals. The recently launched PlanetVB is still looking slick and work on the English version of the page is well on the way. Go ahead and check out The Unofficial Nintendo VB Homepage you can give your idea's on the next home brewn VB game Arkanoid there! And appearantly the Virtual Boy Weird Shit Zone will soon get some very weird (ofcourse that figures!) pictures, they are saying to keep your buckets ready, well uhm we can't wait to see them horrific pictures... I gues...
As for me I'm still waiting for my uncommon/rare jpn games (cartridge only) from Japan -jack bros, mario clash, wario land, space invaders- and the more common jpn games (complete) from America -teleroboxer, golf, galactic pinball, panic bomber- I gues I'm on the move ;-D
SPECIAL OFFER: I am getting a copy of SPACE INVADERS "VIRTUAL COLLECTION" [cartridge only & and I will supply a copy of the manual]. FIRSTLY I will be open for tradings, I am still missing the following Japanese Virtual Boy games: SD Gundam 'Dimension War' and Virtual Bowling, I will trade for one of these two, and/or other rarity's and I would add a reasonable amount of money to make up for the difference; SECONDLY I will accept other offers, I am always happy to negotiate; However I can NOT be obligated to sell or trade, nor do I feel the need to do so, I am not a company, all offers will be dealth with professional and courteous, you can check out the positive feedback I obtained on previous internetdeals over HERE If this game were to get multiple of the same offers it will most likely go on an auction, because auctions tend to give me more additional costs since I live in The Netherlands, I'm offering this to everyone right now. Why? Because I need the money [but getting a complete VB collection is my first objective]. Email me with offers at: mailto:I_M_Virtual_Boy@Yahoo.com Have a good day and Virtual Boy on!
15 March 2000: Impressed... that's what I am... PlanetVB "the number one VB Database" is how the upcoming Virtual Boy page is named and the webmasters invited me to an exclusive PREVIEW. Everyone should be happy it's only two days away and counting, because the page looks really good and is very easy to surf through, there's only one "but", and that's that for now it's only available in German, my German is ok, so I read all through the page and there's loads of info there and not even all is finished so be prepared to see regular updates, anyway here is my first impression: Conclusion: PlanetVB has all the special bits of info my page has and expanded it quite a bit in their own nifty way and added alot of info, plus the webmasters are very experienced html programmers, their layout is tremendously goodlooking and it's smooth and enjoyable to walk through the pages, very modern and a huge page in all, once they finish all what they are planning and keep the page updated, this could very well be one of the best VB pages on the web *Ferry gives this page two thumbs up!!!*
14 March 2000: I have been quite busy doing VB deals lately, amongst other deals I obtained a bunch of Nintendo Power Magazines dating 1995+, these include all, yes ALL issues containing Virtual Boy information, so once I get those (in a few weeks?) expect a bunch of new screenshots.
10 March 2000: There's a new Yahoo Club in town, so Vince invites you all to his virtualboymuseum. We're all patiently awaiting the arrival of the German Virtual Boy Database called PlanetVB, which will be launched in a week's time at midnight CET +1:00
02 March 2000: BIG news on the EMU side of the VB, the actual play of a homebrewn rom (V Pong) on a VB-unit is a fact! David & Alberto work together on this and made it happen! Plus Alberto made a DOCUMENT on how to make a GameLink cable for connection from the VB to an external device! Also I've been playing Space Squash and have come to the conclusion that there must be around 90 levels in the game!!!! This is officially the best Jap only game I've played so far :-) For other Virtual Boy fun go to Ben's Page for a NEW Virtual Boy QUIZ, this cool quiz will be updated alot, plus I will be supplying Benjamin with exclusive audio from rare games, keep your eyes peeled VB-fans there's there plenty fun stuff to do now and coming up soon.
23 February 2000: Happy birthday David Tucker!! Also *thumbs up* for your great VB-EMU. As for the rest of this update I've added the Articles Section, and I've added info to almost all other sections & does anyone know what's going on at the Virtual Boy Petition it hasn't been updated in a while, well... keep signing it people!
?? February 2000:
I got VIRTUAL LAB in the mail today, but when I looked at the
cartridge I noticed something weird, at first I thought it where
my eyes, so I rubbed them a bit, but as it turned out to be I was
seeing everything very clear indeed!
Here look for yourselves:
The cart says: "licensed by
ninntenndo". And that for an official
release, I gues this game really was a rushjob after all. Still
great fun *hahaha*
?? February 2000:
What's wrong with me? I didn't do my homework (gosh!), I missed
Buffy -the vampire slayer- and I missed my all time favorite
serie Friends! I even forgot to take a shower (ok that's probably
too much info). Have I gone crazy then? Well crazy with joy I
am!! OK I'll explain myself: Yesterday I got Insmouth No Yakata,
Space Squash, and Space Invaders 'Virtual Collection' in my
mailbox and man am I impressed with them, I couldn't stop playing
untill my batteries ran out. I feel just as happy as over 3 years
ago when I first played Mario's Tennis&VB Wario Land, I
really think it's a shame I couldn't get any more Jap only games,
because everyone should be able to enjoy them, well that's just
the way it is, but what I can give you is Reviews of the games I got. I wrote them right after
I played the games and more important I've written them
impartial, but with my own opinion at the bottom, please note
that I'm always very positive so even if I liked the game you
might not. I don't know when I'll update again, because it looks
like I'll be playing these games for a while now, oh boy so
exciting...
10 February 2000: YAY!! It's my 19th birthday today!! But why should I be the only one getting gifts, here's one specially for you all: Translations of Japanese only games, just click "Translations" at the index & enjoy!!
06 February 2000: I have uploaded the Accessories section and updated the Links section: a cool NEW fanpage named Virtual Boy 2000 is there now. Plus theres another NEW Virtual Boy page called PlanetVB in the making, which will be unveiled around the 4th of March. Yep, the VBs popularity is on the rise again. One more thing: Im thinking about putting on a VB-Forum/Message Board here, would this be a good idea? would seem sweet to me just let me know.
04 February 2000: Rare Virtual Boy games are really hot on auctions lately!! With Space Invaders/Virtual Lab/3D Tetris/Space Squash/Nesters Funky Bowling/Virtual Fishing being auctioned a while back. People think that Jack Bros. Usa is rare, but the Japanese version is almost impossible to get, just like the Japanese versions of Mario Clash & VB Wario Land. For another note: Ive almost finished the released and unreleased accessories section.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are visiting this page at http://home.wish.net/~ferryg/ and something doesnt show up this is the mirror(main) site: http://members.xoom.com/ferrysvbpage/ I also say this because of complaints of the tedious pop-up screens and "crashing" browsers at the first mentioned site, thank you all for letting me know and Im sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.
29 January 2000: Pierre
and me have been trying to track down a rumoured device which
enables the Virtual Boy's image to appear on a TV (but was
primarily meant for gamedevelopment), all we're trying to do here
is confirm it's existence... translations of the Japanese text
are on their way, I first heared of this rumoured device in a
gamesmagazine (N64 Magazine), read the article on it HERE. For now here's a picture we've obtained:
27 January 2000: Now this is a very exciting update!! Thanks to Prince Shondronai we're THIS close to confirming the existence of PROTOTYPES from Bound High, Dragon Hopper, and Zero Racers, he has been so kind to supply us with scans of the cartridges and perhaps soon even screenshots and reviews!! Also due to overwhelming interest in the VBmessage board (+300message in 1week) there was the need for a second Moderator and you're at his page now ;-p
26 January 2000: There's a new Virtual Boy Domain in town!, go check it out and perhaps even chat with a fellow VBfan via Yahoo. I'm not kidding when I say the VB message board is more populair than I've ever seen it, if we keep this number of posts up, it'll be the hottest of the gamerboards in 'no-time'. The HMD VB page comes yet with another SCOOP, the webmaster there has added a section on how to play the VB on a PC-screen via a camera and also how to make screenshots from your games with the help of a capturecard, eventhough this is not revolutionair (you'll need plenty of GB's on your harddisk to record all, in order to keep playing) it is indeed very innovative and an excellent idea!!
22 January 2000: Due to popular demand: here's the text of the Hong Kong Module , loads of updates on the following pages: weird shit zone/unofficial vb homepage/vb resources/virtuale/hmd vb, also I believe there's a new fan"page" on yahoo, so I will link that one when I confirmed it. Some other big news = that there's another NEW Virtual Boy Page coming up called: PlanetVB. All very cool I might say.
18 January 2000: I bring bad news along with this update, the Virtual Boy message board is no more :( All there is now is it's substitute the new Virtual Boy message board, in fact this new board is not all that bad, but you will have to register to be able to post there, I did and I love it. Ironicly enough the last message on the old (and now deleted) VBboard was about why the Virtual Boy should be brought back, I managed to save it, so read it here. Also the Red Area is still down, if people happened to have saved it (with that I mean some/all of the pages on it) on their computers, please email them to me, so I can put them on here if the Red Area doesn't come online again, name your email "save the Red Area", thanxz. Also a while back I got notice from the Webmaster of The Virtual Boy Petition, read his plan here.
12 January 2000: Put some cool unreleased gamepictures on (Zero Racers anyone?) & while I was at it updated that section quit a bit. Expect a major update at Nintendo VB Resources this week and also I expanded the Links section does anyone know if the original Virtual Boy message board will keep on existing alongside the new one? I sure hope so, because its a great place to find out about the latest rumours and probably the best chance to have a chat with a fellow VB-fan. I myself am very excited about getting a number of very rare VB-games soon, but its not polite to go and brag about it, I will just tell everybody what theyre like when I get them J
08 January 2000: Finally I've cleared up what demo games are out there (2!), as with everything... there might be more *sights*. Proto's sure seem to be a hot subject now that there are new shots out and more pics to come soon. Oh yeah and could the Japanese VBgamers amongst us be so kind to provide us with the o so scarce information about prototypes and the Hong Kong Module. I'll be putting up the text on the Hong Kong Module soon. Be sure to check out the virtual boy weird shIt zone, because the webmaster of that page is trying to get YOU to think along about some of his idea's on a VBcontest/gathering & it can't hurt you to give him your thoughts on the subjects he comes across. As for me I'll be turning in now, it's late and vacation will be over soon, so I need my sleep *yawns*, but everyone may wake me up for a good chat on VB matters so my mailbox will be open. And here's a PS for David Tucker: MY EYES, AAAHH MY EYES!.... I CAN'T SEE!!
04 January 2000: I have finished the Games and Unreleased sections for now. Also I would like to notify everyone that theres a new Virtual Boy Petition going on, I think this is a brave attempt to let Nintendo know that people DO want a Virtual Boy kind of system & the real Virtual Boy fans can have themselves heard, so check out the Links section.
01 January 2000: Hello all and welcome to a new Millennium, but first I want to wish everybody a happy and prosperous new year! For now: Welcome to the launch of my Virtual Boy page! It's not finished yet and I hope it won't be for a long time, because I'm looking forward to updating this page as much as possible. My goal here is to make a Virtual Boy page that contains all the information you need to enjoy the Virtual Boy and more, if you can't find it here, well I've put up an extensive Links section. Not all sections are finished yet and others will be added and updated all the time! Why? Well because I'm sick of the huge shortage of new/updated Virtual Boy pages on the net. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions, additions, comments, etc. on: I_M_Virtual_Boy@Yahoo.com I really hope you will enjoy this page, I know I will enjoy making it for all visitors and Virtual Boy fans. VIRTUAL BOY LIVES ON!!
